In an interview with a local television station, up-and-coming singer Grenade urged the government of Uganda to ban international artists from performing in the country.

He argued that it's unfair for foreign acts to come and profit from Ugandan audiences without leaving anything for local artists. Grenade suggested that the industry should prioritize Ugandan artists exclusively, which he believes would improve their financial prospects.

"Government, I know you are watching, I am requesting you to ban all these international artists from Uganda. No company should be allowed to bring in artists from other countries. This has to stop; you can't say Tems can be better musically here in Uganda than Sheebah."

Grenade expressed the view that international artists often take advantage of promoters, leaving little for Ugandan performers.
